The American School of Doha graduates Dragons ready to leave their mark on the world.
This Friday’s graduation reminded us what makes ASD so extraordinary. It’s our students who are globally minded, compassionate, courageous, and completely themselves.
As Chair of the Board of Directors, I could not be prouder watching this remarkable group cross the stage. Your hard work, character and sense of authenticity will take you far beyond ASD. And remember, you can always come back and visit.

Traci Hernandez has been a member of the ASD Board of Directors since 2021.
She brings with her over 25 years of educational experience as a teacher, professional development facilitator, and consultant. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the USA.
In her role on the Board, Traci has played a vital part in ASD’s achievements, notably by participating in the revision committee for ASD’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values. She has also been involved in four leadership hiring committees, including chairing the Board’s hiring of the current School Director. As the Chair of the Governance and Personnel Committee, she guides important discussions regarding personnel matters, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Traci and her husband have been residents of Doha since 2008 and are parents to two ASD Dragons who are currently in 8th and 10th grade. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys playing golf with family and friends.

Vice President and Executive Director of Joint Ventures

Dan Lilly started his career with ExxonMobil in 2003 in Houston, USA. Over the past 23 years, Dan has held a variety of technical and senior leadership positions globally, covering Subsurface, Major Projects, Planning/Commercial, Corporate Strategy, and Public and Government Affairs.
Dan’s industry experience began in the mining industry as a field geologist in northern Canada. After joining ExxonMobil, he focused on integrated subsurface characterization, depletion planning, reservoir surveillance and optimization, and geophysics. In 2011, Dan was appointed to his first managerial position, leading ExxonMobil’s Integrated Global New Opportunities organization. He moved to Calgary to lead the subsurface and greenfield development of Heavy Oil resources in Cold Lake. He was then appointed as the Africa Exploration Manager, leading new ventures activities, including ExxonMobil’s efforts to acquire Area 4 in the Rovuma Basin, Mozambique, and its Upstream entry into Egypt.
In 2020, Dan became the Qatar Subsurface Manager, working closely with QatarEnergy to develop and execute the subsurface basis for iDL and NFPS Compression. He was then appointed to Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Public & Government Affairs. Dan recently assumed his current role of Vice President and Executive Director of Joint Ventures at ExxonMobil Qatar, responsible for ExxonMobil’s interests in existing LNG and non-LNG joint ventures, including the Golden Pass Venture in the US.
Dan holds a B.Sc. in Structural Geology with Honors from the University of British Columbia (Canada) and an M.Sc. in Structural Geology and Geophysics from San Diego State University (USA).
